On Sat, me and my friends made a pact after watching movie together. We're gonna raid Geylang and eat durians. And so we did. We headed down to Geylang about 6.30pm to Lorong 11. There were 6 of us.3 guys and 3 ladies, and of course cute Shawn was with us as well.
The seller of course, tried to sell us the more expensive durian which is a bout $15 per kg. Well, we're not going to bite that bait, definately. So we settled for the 3 for $20. At the end of the course, we ate a total of 12 durians ($80). The thing about durians is that when you think you had enough. Come the next day, it makes you wanna have more. To me its just so addictive. And the trick of getting the durian smell out of your hand is to rub it against any of the durian shell. Try it and you'll be a believer.
But thats not the end of it. We headed our way down for the famous frog leg porridge. It was pouring when we made our way down there. Luckily they set us up by putting a big umbrella as a shade on the table. For your information, this frog leg porridge is just beside the famous beef keow teow at Lorong 9.
Finally for desserts, we had kwai leng guo at Gong He Guan at Lorong 11 as well.
And here is out total damage that night.
Durians - $80.00
Frog Leg Porridge - $44.00
Kwai Leng Guo - $27.50
Total spent among six of us came to about $151.50. Hey, its still cheaper than the Korean BBQ we had last weekend.
That itself is a food for thought.
