Ceramah Perdana - Seberang Jaya

When I was back in my hometown, little did I realise that the Prime Minister in waiting will be at Permatang Pauh for a ceramah on Sat night. Only upon seeing the poster and also from the internet, we knew that Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim (DSAI) will be at Tapak Ekspo Seberang Jaya, Permatang Pauh in Penang.

So after watching Hancock (the movie is quite good) and eating dinner at Northam ( the food is good as well), we dashed back to the mainland to catch DSAI in action. I for one knew that the spotlight will be on him since the PI Balasundram had retracted his statutory declaration a day earlier.

However the worst part was finding the venue. We had no idea where this place was. While we were driving stuck in a jam, someone on a 4 wheel drive told us to move our vehicle because Ketua Menteri Pulau Pinang needs to rush to the venue. We were pleseantly suprised that he was polite in asking us to move our vehicle. We had expected some rowdy rude person. Then my sister saw, a car bearing plate no PG1 zooming away. So we sped as well trailing behind Guan Eng's car. Do take note that there was no police patrol car escorting our Ketua Menteri. This is what I call leading by example.

When we reached the venue, it was jam packed. We even saw a guy involved in a minor accident falling down from his motorcycle and helped by the policeman on duty there. No way we were going to find a spot to park. So we did what we needed to do. Me and my Dad and Mum got out of the car in the middle of the highway and walked on foot to the venue. My sister and the rest decided to give this a miss and went to some where else and pick us up later.

I estimated the crowd to be more than 10,000 people. When we reached there, fiery speeches were already fired. There was simply too many people that we resorted sitting at the back. From the pictures you can see that we were quite far away from the podium. And all of our butts were hurting as we sat on sand stone ground. I am for one glad that I managed to catch Guan Eng speaking. Well suprise suprise, our Prime Minister was there in Penang too but he was too shy I guess to annouce he was there according to Guan Eng. He is shy to explain to the people that projek rakyat has been cancelled.

The man of the night was DSAI. In his yellow batik shirt, he fired his first salvo saying that he is menyampah to layan the latest allegations against him. He also challenged Syed Hamid Albar to prove that he or Datin Seri Wan Azizah had contacted US on this matter. If he cant, he will need to apologized. He also hitted out on former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad for giving out millions to US lobbyists during his premiership.

In 2 months time, DSAI noted that things will be worst for the rakyat. Just mark my words, he said. He went on as well to touch on the role of IGP and AG 10 years ago on his trial. And how he wont trust those very same people to handle his case again.

He also chided Putera Umno chairperson Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim for challenging him to swear on the Quran and said that kalau nak kontrak cakap aje la.

In his closing speech he said that he is willing to forgive and forget, but those people keep coming back to charge him with this accusations. He will fight back this time.

And he said it again here "saya lawan pagi, saya lawan tengah hari, saya lawan petang dan saya lawan tengah malam" And he followed by saying that "Lawan Tetap...." the crowd in unison including myself shouted "LAWAN"!!!
